Quits

Quit smoking with your cell phone

Quits.
Quits is designed to help you to give up or reduce the amount that you smoke.
The fist step in the process is to measure the amount that you smoke and build up a profile of your smoking addiction. This personal profile is then used to reduce the amount that you smoke in a way that is customized to you. Continuously measuring the interval between cigarettes and then slowly adjusting it achieves this.

As you get used to smoking less you adapt to the lower levels of nicotine in you blood stream, but because it is not cut “cold turkey” the withdrawal symptoms are controlled at manageable levels. The same process that reduces the nicotine levels also addresses the psychological addiction by disassociating your smoking from the many trigger events that cause you to light up. As you only smoke when Quits says that you may, having a cup of coffee, starting you car, seeing someone else light up and many other triggers won’t always be greeted with permission to smoke.

Once you have achieved your desired level, Quits gives you the option to suspend any further reductions in the amount that you smoke. The ideal is to stop altogether, but with Quits this ideal is not imposed upon you. Quits is designed to put you in control of your addiction instead of the addiction controlling you.

Cigarette?

After choosing “Cigarette?” from the main menu you will see either of the two screens as seen on the left.

The first is self-explanatory.

The second displays a time to wait until you may smoke. It is important that you ask again after that time (if you feel like smoking) and not just wait until that time passes.
If you don’t ask again your personal profile will have incorrect data in it that could lead to too quick a reduction in the amount that you smoke.

Stats

Stats will tell you how many cigarettes that you smoke per day.

NOTE This will only be accurate after using the program for one week.

Settings.

There are three options in the settings menu.
One Touch causes the “Logo Screen” to be skipped and “Cigarette?” to be chosen from the main menu automatically. This is a shortcut to the most used item.
Suspend will stop any further changes being made to you personal profile. This allows you to continue using the program to maintain the amount that you smoke at the current level without any further reductions.
Time 24h changes the time format to 24 hour format if selected, and 12 hour format if not selected.

Reset.

Reset gives you a “start over” option in case you stopped using the program and want to start from the beginning.
